Individuals with an arrest or conviction record are not automatically barred from all employment. The system, however, has significant flaws.
Bunk 57 Ministries has a two-pronged strategy to assisting those re-entering society and establishing a healthy, productive life. During their incarceration, we hope to connect offenders with mentors and provide training in areas such as entrepreneurship and video editing. We also aim to give job placement and housing arrangements prior to their release since we feel that work possibilities empower people.

Men and women released from correctional facilities receive minimal support and preparation for their new lives outside the prison walls. Inadequate assistance and resources make their re-entry into communities a challenge. Bunk 57 provides a community of support as well as backpacks to these citizens to help them achieve a fresh start. The backpacks include the following essentials:
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Body wash, towel sets, and deodorant
- Dress shirts, t-shirts, boxers, and socks
