When 17-year-old Romeo Washington seeks to prove himself and earn a place in a local crew, his decision sets off a chain of events that ripples through his family and community. As a veteran detective fights to save his injured son and uncover the truth behind the shooting, loyalties are tested, hidden pasts threaten to surface, and the line between protector and perpetrator begins to blur.

Future Prospects - The first short film produced by the Spring & Summer 2024 Class of the P.L.S.M. Youth Program

In Future Prospects, we follow three driven souls chasing their visions with relentless passion.
Two are grinding day and night, muscles and minds locked on the dream of going pro in football.
One is building his voice, his brand, and his influence for a life in the spotlight.
But beyond the sweat and ambition, there’s a deeper thread binding them together—faith. Step by step, prayer by prayer, they’re drawing closer to God, trusting Him to open doors no one else can.
This is more than a story about chasing success—it’s about betting everything on your dream, your brothers, and your Creator. The future isn’t just coming… they’re racing toward it.
Watch the short films made by the P.L.S.M. Youth Program. The Power, Love, and Sound Mind Youth Program diverts young men from the school-to-prison pipeline and guides them to success through mentorship, group sessions, community service, and group activities like filmmaking, among other experiences geared to motivate and inspire. It is well recognized that urban youth are disengaged from education due to a lack of resources, high crime rates, and a lack of positive male influence as a result of mass incarceration. As a result, young males with low literacy skills are far more likely to be incarcerated or victims of gun violence. The P.L.S.M. Youth Program aims to give male role models, develop career interests and abilities, and educate our young men about their culture, history, and opportunities for success.
